L.A. Care’s Cal MediConnect members receive high quality care and enhanced benefits with one health plan responsible for coordinating their medical care, long-term care, mental health and substance abuse care, and social service needs.

What to Expect from L.A. Care's Cal MediConnect Program:

Easy to Use

One telephone number to call, one health insurance card, and one set of benefits.

Person-Centered Care

L.A. Care is focused on meeting each individual's needs, working with our members, their family members and other caregivers to improve health care and access to home- and community-based services.

Culturally Appropriate Health Care

L.A. Care's health care providers are culturally sensitive and located near where our members live. Services and member materials are provided in the member's language.

Dignity and Independence

L.A. Care supports and empowers our members to actively manage their chronic conditions. The goal of the Cal MediConnect program is to help members avoid unnecessary hospitalizations and placement in long-term care facilities, and to lead more independent lives in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes and communities.

Member Services

L.A. Care's Cal MediConnect members have access to member services representatives who speak their language via telephone for questions and assistance, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays.

Accessible Provider Offices

L.A. Care has provided accessible exam equipment to nearly 2/3 of L.A. County's safety net clinics. We also conduct onsite inspections of our doctors’ offices to determine accessibility.

Access to More Resources

Through this program, L.A. Care's Cal MediConnect members have access to a free nurse advice line, free health education workshops and a social worker, as needed.

For Members Affected by the Wildfires

L.A. Care wants to ensure you have access to needed health services as our state deals with the current wildfire disaster. If you have been impacted by the wildfires, please note the following:

  • Prescriptions can be refilled at an out-of-network pharmacy if medications have been lost or left behind. Call 1-888-839-9909 for further assistance.
  • Clinical Services can be accessed out-of-network if your usual provider is unable to work due to the wildfires. Call 1-888-522-1298 for guidance in this situation.
